Houston Classic Carport specializes in repairing and upgrading exotic and vintage automobiles, focusing on high-end collectibles. Our facility offers a comprehensive range of services to ensure quality and efficiency throughout the repair process.
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our talented team at Houston Classic Carport. In this role, you will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on a variety of classic and exotic vehicles, ensuring that each project meets our high standards of quality and craftsmanship. Our ideal craftsman should have at least 10 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot mechanical issues on classic and exotic cars.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle systems.
- Utilize power tools and equipment safely and effectively during repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of restoration projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used for each vehicle.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients about their vehicle needs.
- Proven experience as an automotive technician, preferably with classic or exotic vehicle experience
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair techniques and systems.
- Familiarity with diesel engine repair is a plus but not required.
- Ability to use power tools and diagnostic equipment proficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.50 - $31.91 per hour
Responsibilities
- Use your expertise and diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle malfunction codes
- Assist with establishing service center procedures for tracking repair status, maintaining technical documentation, and other necessary protocols
- Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements
- Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Convey necessary vehicle repair information to customers in a clear and concise manner
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required
- An associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred
- Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred
- Strong customer service and communications skills are required
