Lead Data Scientist / MLOps Engineer (Hybrid)

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD (Partial Telework up to 16 hours per week)

Compensation

Base compensation ranges from $170,000 to $260,000.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytic efforts and provide technical expertise for mission‑critical systems.
• Translate qualitative mission goals into quantitative software prototypes.
• Develop descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analyses.
• Oversee the full analytic lifecycle, from feature vector development and algorithm tuning to validating performance using standard metrics.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts and software engineers to guide the transition of prototyped analytics into production‑scale, automated solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree + 10 years of experience, Master’s + 8 years, PhD + 6 years, or 14 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Significant background in MLOps and Data Science, including machine learning, data mining, and advanced statistical analysis using R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB.
• Proven ability to lead a team of data scientists, delegate responsibilities, and guide integration of state‑of‑the‑art algorithms.
• Proficiency in data visualization, feature engineering, and evaluating model performance via ROC curves and confusion matrices.

Clearance Requirements

TS/SCI with FS Polygraph is required. Must have an in‑scope polygraph within the last 7 years. Clearances cannot be upgraded or accepted by CCA holders.
