Senior Network & Infrastructure EngineerLocation: Belfast Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits Working Pattern: 5 Days per Week On-SiteThe OpportunityOur client is seeking a Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing technical team. This is a newly created position driven by several new customer contracts and offers the opportunity to work on a mix of project delivery and technical support activities across a diverse customer base.The successful candidate will primarily focus on delivering networking projects, including greenfield and brownfield network deployments, while also supporting the wider service desk function during quieter project periods. This role would suit an experienced engineer who enjoys hands-on networking, customer engagement, and mentoring colleagues.The RoleAs a senior member of the engineering team, you will take ownership of complex networking deployments and act as a technical escalation point across networking, cloud, and infrastructure technologies.Key responsibilities include:Design, implementation and deployment of wired and wireless networking solutionsInstallation, configuration and testing of switches, routers and wireless access pointsDelivery of both greenfield and brownfield network projects across customer environmentsTroubleshooting network performance issues, latency, connectivity problems and configuration faultsConducting site surveys, audits and deployment planningSupporting and mentoring junior engineers and acting as a technical escalation pointProviding onsite customer support and maintaining strong client relationshipsSupporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, including administration and troubleshootingProducing technical documentation and maintaining monitoring systemsManaging incidents, requests and problems while meeting agreed SLAsParticipating in remote monitoring and management of customer environmentsWhat We're Looking ForEssential ExperienceMinimum 5 years' experience in a network-focused engineering roleExperience leading or taking technical ownership of complex infrastructure and networking deploymentsStrong networking knowledge covering:SwitchingRoutingWireless networkingNetwork troubleshooting and diagnosticsExperience deploying and supporting enterprise network infrastructureStrong understanding of RF design principles and controller-based wireless architecturesExperience conducting onsite deployments, customer engagement and site auditsMicrosoft 365 administration and troubleshooting experienceAzure administration and troubleshooting experienceExcellent customer-facing communication skillsDesirable ExperienceHPE/Aruba networking experience and certificationsCisco, Dell, HP or equivalent networking vendor experienceExperience with Aruba Central, ClearPass or similar network management platformsNetwork monitoring and documentation toolsExperience supporting high-density wireless environmentsPersonal AttributesStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities effectivelyCustomer-focused mindset with excellent communication skillsComfortable explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersHighly organised with strong time management skillsCollaborative team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting colleaguesWhat's on Offer?Salary of £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experienceOpportunity to work on varied and technically challenging networking projectsExposure to enterprise-scale customer environmentsCareer development and vendor training opportunitiesJoin a growing team supporting major client contractsIf you're an experienced networking professional looking for a hands-on role that combines project delivery, customer engagement and technical leadership, we'd love to hear from you.
