Job DescriptionPosition Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Low Voltage Installer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low voltage systems in commercial and residential environments. This role requires strong technical skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic, and coaxial cable.
- Install and configure security systems, access control systems, surveillance cameras (CCTV), and structured cabling infrastructure.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Perform cable routing, conduit installation, cable dressing, and rack building.
- Troubleshoot system and connectivity issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations and service work performed.
- Ensure all work is completed according to company standards, customer requirements, and applicable codes.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and job site requirements.
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of low voltage installation experience (entry-level candidates with strong technical aptitude are encouraged to apply).
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards and installation best practices.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, cable testers, and other installation equipment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces when necessary.
Preferred:
- Experience with access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, or network infrastructure.
- Fiber optic termination and testing experience.
- OSHA 10/30 certification.
- BICSI, manufacturer, or industry-related certifications.
- Experience working in commercial construction environments.
