Primary PurposeThis role owns ERP responsibilities from pre-close due diligence through post close integration and stabilization. The M&A ERP Systems Lead leads ERP integration outcomes by defining strategy, scope, timelines, and governance, and by overseeing execution performed by internal technical teams and external implementation partners. The role is accountable for decision making, risk management, and delivery of ERP integration objectives, rather than hands on system configuration or development.
Major Responsibilities Pre Close Due DiligenceAssess target company ERP landscapes, including platforms, modules, customizations, integrations, and data structuresEvaluate ERP support for core business processes (e.g., record to report, order to cash, procure to pay, supply chain)Identify ERP related risks, constraints, and cost driversContribute to integration or separation strategy recommendations (e.g., single instance, two-tier, interim solutions)Provide ERP input to deal timelines, synergy estimates, and Day 1 readiness planningPost Close Integration PlanningDefine ERP target state aligned with business and operating model decisionsDevelop ERP integration or carve out roadmaps, including phases, milestones, and dependenciesAlign ERP plans with Finance, Operations, HR, and other functional workstreamsDetermine scope, sequencing, and resourcing approach (internal teams vs. system integrators)Support vendor selection and statement of work development where applicablePost Close Integration ExecutionLead the ERP integration workstream through execution and stabilizationGovern and coordinate internal technical teams and external implementation partnersReview and validate solution designs, data migration approaches, and integration strategiesEnsure Day 1 readiness, cutover planning, and post cutover stabilizationTrack progress, manage risks and issues, and escalate as neededEnsure ERP outcomes meet business requirements, control standards, and compliance needsStakeholder & Governance ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary ERP point of contact for M&A initiativesCommunicate ERP status, risks, and decisions to executive and deal leadershipTranslate business requirements into ERP capabilities and constraintsAct as a bridge between functional leaders and technical teamsSupport integration governance, decision forums, and executive updates
EducationBachelor's degree in information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Work ExperienceExperience with ERP enabled business processes (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, etc.)Experience defining ERP integration strategies and leading ERP workstreamsAbility to assess ERP risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs in fast paced M&A environments8 years of experience with ERP systems in complex enterprise environmentsDirect experience supporting M&A integrations and/or carve outsExperience with defining project timelinesExperience with resource time and availability
Knowledge / Skills / AbilitiesSolid understanding of ERP architecture, data migration, integrations, and security conceptsAbility to evaluate and challenge technical designs and vendor recommendationsExcellent problem-solving skills and techniquesComfort collaborating with architects, developers, and infrastructure teamsStrong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to successfully engage in multiple tasks simultaneouslyThis role does not require hands on configuration, coding, or developmentKnowledge of IT Best PracticesAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously
