Mainframe IMS Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain IMS DB and IMS TM/DC environments.
• Assist with installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Monitor system performance and help identify optimization opportunities.
• Troubleshoot incidents and contribute to problem resolution.
• Participate in change implementations and system enhancements.
• Support automation, modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Contribute to backup, recovery, and availability processes.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in Mainframe environments with IMS DB and/or IMS TM/DC.
• Proficiency with JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF.
• Knowledge of DBRC, VSAM, performance tuning, backup and recovery concepts.
• Experience with scripting tools such as REXX.
• Familiarity with Mainframe monitoring and scheduling tools.
• Additional experience with DB2, IBM MQ, COBOL, PL/I, Java, CICS, or automation initiatives is an advantage.
