Maintenance Scheduler
Location: Sunrise Oil Sands
Type: Contract
Schedule: 8 days on/6 days off (12 hr shifts)
Flights and Accommodation provided out of Calgary or Edmonton
Introduction:
Brunel is currently seeking a Maintenance Scheduler to coordinate maintenance work by aligning resources, materials, and timelines to support safe and efficient execution. This role supports maintenance and operations activities by developing and maintaining schedules that optimize workforce utilization and adherence to company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed maintenance schedules for assigned work areas
- Coordinate labour, materials, permits, and equipment required for scheduled work
- Monitor schedule compliance and adjust plans based on operational priorities
- Update and maintain scheduling data within CMMS systems
- Compile and distribute work schedules to relevant personnel
- Support weekly scheduling processes and planning cycles
- Coordinate scheduling requirements for shutdowns, turnarounds, and outage events
- Liaise with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and other stakeholders
- Facilitate and participate in scheduling and coordination meetings
- Support adherence to the work order lifecycle process
Accountabilities
- Accountable for the accuracy and effectiveness of maintenance schedules
- Responsible for coordinating resources to support efficient work execution
- Required to follow company processes, procedures, and standard practices
- Supports schedule performance metrics including compliance and capacity
- Responsible for aligning scheduling activities with operational priorities
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
- Journeyman Trade Certification or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years of industrial experience
- Extensive experience using a CMMS for maintenance planning (SAP and/or Prometheus preferred)
Assets:
- Experience with turnaround and outage scheduling
- Familiarity with ABSA regulatory requirements
- Experience in oil sands or similar industrial environments
- Greenfield and Brownfield projects, New Construction, and Management of Change (MOC)
