Maintenance Technician

Job DescriptionOverview A well-established manufacturer in Cork, operating within the agri-processing sector, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join its engineering team. The business plays a key role in its supply chain and has built a strong reputation for product quality, operational reliability, and safety standards. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional to take ownership of equipment performance on a busy production site, working core hours with an additional paid on-call arrangement.

Responsibilities Operate and maintain a range of processing and production equipment across the site. Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance to support ongoing plant reliability. Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues as they arise.

Monitor output to ensure products consistently meet required quality standards. Carry out equipment changeovers and adjustments in line with production schedules. Support the installation and commissioning of new plant and machinery.

Respond promptly to breakdowns to keep downtime to a minimum, including participation in a paid on-call rota. Maintain accurate maintenance and production records. Collaborate with production and quality colleagues to support ongoing improvement across the site.

Adhere fully to health & safety, environmental, and company standards at all times. Criteria Previous experience in a manufacturing, processing, or industrial production setting. A trade, apprenticeship, or technical qualification in an engineering discipline would be an advantage.

Good working knowledge of mechanical systems, with some electrical maintenance capability. Strong fault-finding ability, with confidence reading technical drawings and documentation. Familiarity with automated or PLC-controlled equipment beneficial.

Comfortable using computer systems for maintenance and production reporting. Willing and able to participate in an on-call arrangement. Reward Competitive salary depending on experience, with additional paid on-call earnings.
