Job Description
Key ResponsibilitiesLegal & RecoveryDraft, review, and file applications, written statements, rejoinders, and other pleadings before DRT / DRAT and other relevant authorities.Liaise with advocates, banks, and financial institutions on matters related to SARFAESI Act, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), and Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act (RDBA).Track ongoing litigation, prepare cause lists, maintain case status, and ensure timely follow-ups with counsels.Review title documents, loan agreements, and other recovery-related contracts.Support enforcement actions including possession, auction, and settlement documentation.Acquisition & ResolutionAssist in evaluation and due diligence of stressed assets / NPA portfolios proposed for acquisition.Review financial and legal data packs, identify key risks, and provide legal inputs for bid submissions.Coordinate with internal teams for structuring acquisition proposals and resolution strategies.Support documentation related to assignment agreements, acquisition contracts, and transaction closure.Work closely with resolution teams to drive recovery strategies including settlements, restructuring, and legal enforcement.Coordination & ReportingCoordinate with business, finance, and operations teams to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory timelines.Prepare periodic legal MIS, case summaries, and recovery status reports for management review.Handle any other assigned legal work related to NPA acquisition, resolution, and recovery.Desired Candidate ProfileLLB from a recognized university (LLM preferred but not mandatory).Prior experience with ARCs, Banks, NBFCs, or financial institutions handling stressed assets will be preferred.Strong understanding of debt recovery laws, SARFAESI, IBC framework, and asset acquisition processes.Exposure to due diligence and transaction documentation for NPA acquisitions will be an added advantage.Strong drafting and communication skills in English.Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with external legal counsels and internal stakeholders.For Mumbai location: proficiency in Marathi is mandatory.For Chennai location: proficiency in Tamil is mandatory.
