Job Description
Assignment Duration: 12 months (extension subject to performance and overall fit)
Role Summary
The technician supports the company owned and development vehicles within the Product Assurance Garage, performing a wide range of mechanical, electrical, diagnostic, and maintenance activities across diverse vehicle architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic tests and inspections to identify mechanical and electrical issues
- Repair and replace components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and related vehicle systems
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, inspections, and component replacements
- Utilize specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs and adjustments
- Follow the company and manufacturer procedures, specifications, and safety requirements
- Document repairs, maintenance actions, and parts usage accurately
- Communicate vehicle status, findings, and recommendations to internal stakeholders
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and support staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Stay current with evolving automotive technologies and service practices
Core Skills & Qualifications
- High School diploma with 5+ years of automotive technician experience
- Valid driver’s license with clean record
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capability
- Proven experience using diagnostic tools and specialized automotive equipment
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced, variable work environment
- Comfort operating across multiple vehicle platforms and technologies
- Strong attention to documentation, quality, and safety compliance
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new automotive technologies
Preferred
- Proficiency with GlobalConnect, MDI, and the company diagnostic tools
- Experience with vehicle instrumentation and sensors
- Qualifications include EV capabilities and electrical/mechanical innovation support
