Position Overview The Impact & Prosperity Epicenter team seeks an experienced, energetic, independent, and detail-oriented Communications Manager to spread the word about the new, first‑of‑its‑kind residential community known as the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter. The Communications Manager will lead marketing and communications for the residential community, designing, coordinating, and executing a wide range of marketing/communications campaigns, including physical marketing material, website content development, social media, newsletters, and other awareness‑raising campaigns.
Candidates must be proficient in performing a variety of writing, design, and project‑management tasks while using good judgment and strong interpersonal skills to plan and execute marketing/communications strategies. Candidates must be adaptable to an evolving organizational structure and demonstrate the ability to utilize traditional and electronic publishing technologies to produce communications that implement project objectives.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan that reaches the wide range of stakeholders including students, campus partners and off‑campus stakeholders.
Create marketing/communication materials from concept to execution across social media, printed flyers, website content, and newsletters.
Communicate department information on various projects to internal and external stakeholders.
Monitor the effectiveness of marketing/communication tactics and adjust plans as necessary.
In conjunction with the Epicenter owners, develop, track, achieve, and report on short and long‑term goals.
Engage in review and feedback of marketing materials and events.
Support the Sales team on the development and execution of outreach materials for the housing application process and recruitment opportunities (e.g., tabling).
Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor student marketing interns and ambassadors, providing direction on content creation, event promotion, and community engagement initiatives.
Work with Epicenter Centers (Sorenson Impact Institute and the Center for Business, Health and Prosperity) as “clients” on a needed basis to market their needs.
Collaborate with marketing leadership to identify and develop compelling stories highlighting residents, student experiences, speakers, programs, and outcomes through written, visual, and multimedia content.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : One year of higher education can be substituted for one year of directly related work experience. (Example: a bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience.)
Senior Supervisor, Marketing Communications Management: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
Manager, Marketing Communications Management: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to five years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, brand management, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing multi‑channel marketing and communications campaigns.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to various audiences.
Experience creating content for websites, social media platforms, email newsletters, and print materials.
Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), email marketing platforms, and social media management tools.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
Demonstrated attention to detail, including editing and proofreading communications materials.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
