About the Role
The Marketing Operations Specialist is a fixed-term maternity leave cover role sitting within the Global Programs pillar of Cyncly's Global Integrated Demand Team. This role provides day-to-day operational continuity for marketing operations activity within Marketo, ensuring lead lifecycle management, customer lifecycle programs, and the marketing technology stack continue to run smoothly while the permanent Marketing Operations Manager is on maternity leave.
Reporting to the Global Programs Director, this is a more junior, execution-focused role. The successful candidate will receive a one-month handover from the current role holder before maternity leave begins, and will be responsible for maintaining existing operational programs, supporting ongoing projects (including a large-scale de-duplication initiative), and troubleshooting issues as they arise, rather than driving new strategic initiatives.
Cyncly's marketing technology landscape is complex, shaped by growth through acquisition: two Salesforce instances (one natively connected to Marketo, one via custom integration), plus a Zapier integration to Broadlume. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in this kind of multi-system environment and is energised rather than deterred by operational complexity.
Key Responsibilities
Lead & Customer Lifecycle
• Support ongoing revisions to the lead lifecycle, maintaining accurate stage progression and handoff logic.
• Support the definition and implementation of customer lifecycle programs, in line with direction set by the Global Programs Director.
Marketing Automation & Program Builds
• Build and maintain automation — triggers and flow steps — across program types including events, webinars, landing pages and forms, emails, and nurture programs.
Marketo–Salesforce Data Flow
• Maintain automation governing the flow of data from Marketo to Salesforce, across both the natively connected Salesforce instance and the custom-integrated instance, as well as the Zapier integration to Broadlume.
• Import data into Marketo for sync to Salesforce as required to support the event process.
Operational Program Maintenance
• Set up and maintain operational programs, including lead lifecycle, customer lifecycle, and data normalization programs.
• Support the ongoing de-duplication project, addressing the high volume of duplicate records created by Cyncly's complex, multi-system data architecture.
Platform & Integration Knowledge
• Maintain working knowledge of key integrations, including On24, Cvent, 6sense, Optimizely, Marketo, Marketo Measure, and Meta.
• Apply a working understanding of Salesforce lead assignment configuration, which accounts for two CRM instances, geography, Business Unit, product, segment size, and annual revenue.
Troubleshooting & Data Management
• Troubleshoot operational and data issues as they arise across the marketing technology stack.
• Manipulate and analyze data in Excel to answer operational questions and generate insights.
Experience & Qualifications
• 3+ years of hands-on marketing operations experience, ideally with Marketo.
• Exposure to lead lifecycle and/or customer lifecycle programs within a B2B SaaS or technology environment.
• Familiarity with CRM integrations (Salesforce–Marketo); experience with multi-CRM or multi-system environments is a key requirement.
• Strong Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate data confidently to answer operational questions. This is a key requirement.
• Strong troubleshooting instincts and comfort working through ambiguous, data-related problems independently.
• Ability to pick up existing systems and processes quickly, following a short handover period.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, matrixed global organization.
