Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical components, mechanisms, and systems for medical device products.
• Conduct mold qualification activities, including DOE, viscosity studies, gate freeze studies, flash analysis, and pack/hold pressure optimization.
• Perform mold validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) and tool design, ensuring proper parameters and settings.
• Maintain hands‑on experience with molding equipment and tooling; attend on‑site visits 1–2 days per week.
• Work independently, prioritize tasks, and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Experience Required

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mold qualification and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ).
• Hands‑on tool and mold design experience.
• Strong knowledge of molding parameters and settings.
• Experience with statistical techniques and design of experiments.
• Willingness to travel to the San Diego site 1–2 times per week or relocate at own expense.

Skills & Certifications

• Independent problem‑solving and advanced technical analysis.
• Advanced application of statistical techniques and DOE.
• In‑depth knowledge and skills in mechanical engineering and tooling.
• Ability to determine own work priorities with minimal guidance.

Eligibility & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
