Your new companyWe are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Reporting Analyst to join a well-established and growing business. Your new role At present, employee timesheets are manually scanned and processed, requiring strong attention to detail and robust data handling capability.
The business is currently implementing a new digital timesheet system, which will significantly streamline payroll processes and improve data accuracy.As automation is introduced, the role will evolve to offer greater involvement in contract billing, reporting, and commercial analysis. This makes it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build on their payroll experience and transition into a more data-driven, commercially focused position.We are particularly interested in candidates with advanced Excel skills, who can manage complex datasets, build reporting tools, and contribute to process improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll ProcessingManage end-to-end payroll on a weekly and monthly basis across multiple contractsProcess timesheet data (currently manual/scanned, transitioning to digital systems)Ensure accurate calculation of pay, overtime, bonuses, and statutory deductionsAdminister PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and statutory paymentsMaintain accurate payroll records, including starters, leavers, and changesEnsure compliance with HMRC regulationsSupport payroll audits and year-end processesReporting & Excel AnalysisUse advanced Excel to manipulate and analyse payroll and operational dataBuild and maintain complex reporting schedules and reconciliationsProduce KPI and contract-level performance reportsIdentify trends, discrepancies, and data insightsProcess Improvement & DevelopmentSupport implementation of the new timesheet systemContribute to improving efficiency, accuracy, and controls within payrollTransition into supporting contract billing and financial reportingAssist with billing data validation, preparation, and reconciliationWhat you'll need to succeedProven payroll experience with strong knowledge of UK legislationAdvanced Excel capability (e.g. complex formulas, data manipulation, reporting)Experience working with large datasets and reconciliationsHigh attention to detail and strong analytical mindsetAbility to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environmentComfortable working with evolving systems and processesInterest in developing towards commercial reporting, billing, or finance analysisWhat you'll get in returnCompetitive salaryOpportunity to develop into a broader analytical and commercial roleSupportive team environmentOn-site parkingWhat you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
