In this role, you’ll support a broad scope: recruiting, team member relations, communications, benefits, and more.
You’ll work closely with retail leadership and cross‑functional partners to bring People & Culture expertise where it’s needed most, whether that’s at your desk or at any of our 16 branches across Connecticut. Location – East Hartford, CT Hybrid (3-4 days in office)
Compensation – $80k-$90k annually (depending on experience, education, aptitude & equity)

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Retail division and the leadership team via in person meetings and activities to encourage synergy and relationship building.
- Supports the recruiting function which includes sourcing of candidates and managing the candidate selection process.
- Work with the Retail Team to design, develop, and execute promotional programs and incentives that drive results across all branches and support centers.
- Works on a team to develop applicable policies and procedures to support the Retail division.
- Serves as the main point of contact for FMLA/ADA, reasonable accommodations,
- Works collaboratively with P&C Team to support Team Member relations and complex investigations.
- Meets with leaders, business partners, and vendors in person to foster cooperation and to develop interpersonal relationships.
- Works collaboratively with Retail and People & Culture leadership to develop programs to drive optimal levels of service and high engagement.
- Meets in person with Team member, vendors, and other key stakeholders with the purpose of driving collaboration and productivity.
- Supports Team Member information using various points of technology including HRIS, Learning Management Software, and Knowledge Management.
- Manages Team Member social and engagement activities as needed.
- Travels to branches and team member events as needed.
- Manages the Team Management function for Retail which includes but isn’t limited to People Planning, performance appraisals, IDPs, and more.
- Supports New Hire Orientation and manages the onboarding process pre‑retail/technical training and development.
- Attend job fairs and other recruitment events as needed.
- Driving to branches and other locations to provide support is required at 25%.
- Communications
- Supports the Manager of Retail Engagement to ensure communications are aligned and support Team Member Engagement.
- Works collaboratively with the Benefits and Payroll department to support Team Members with matters related to HRIS systems and other platforms.
- Works collaboratively with the Communications team to ensure correspondence related to policies, Open Enrollment, Organizational Announcements, special events, etc. are communicated.
- Compliance
- Updates and maintains all recruiting recordkeeping in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.
- Medallion Guarantee process and ensure adherence and compliance.
- Monitors and schedules Sexual Harassment Prevention Training as necessary.
- Completes Background Checks as necessary.
- Works with the team to review Team Member Handbook and policies/procedures in compliance with Federal and State legal requirements.
- Systems & Administrative Support
- Creates and prepares reports, spreadsheets and graphs in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Workforce Now as required. Schedules meetings and reserves conference rooms in Outlook as necessary.
- Updates Job Descriptions, Workforce Now, Procedure Manuals and Organizational Chart via HRIS system.
- Manages key vendor relationships and prepares invoices for assigned vendors.
- Proficient in Payroll and time and attendance procedures.
- Works within the HRIS for recruiting, onboarding, and other Team Member changes.
- Supports post offer process to include background checks, bondability verification, written communications and internal onboarding requirements.
- Develops organizational and department ad hoc reports in appropriate HRIS as needed.
- Represents the P&C Department on internal committees as needed.
- Administers policy and procedural information via HRIS System to active Team Members and ensures acknowledgement of set policies.
- Supports Open Enrollment process.
Education and/or Experience
This role requires Subject Matter Expertise and the ability to provide mentorship, guidance and training to other team members. While this level of expertise will generally be attained with a minimum of 5 years in a previous managing multiple business units in the capacity as a Generalist. Advanced knowledge of HRIS and LMS system a must.
Must have experience using a Applicant Tracking System (ATS), investigating complex matters, etc, and Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources or Business Administration. Priority will be place upon the demonstration of the ability to meet qualifications without an absolute focus on duration of experience, in recognition that the attainment of such qualifications may be obtained at different paces by different individuals.
