Physician – Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine/Pediatrics (Open Rank/Track Faculty)
Overview
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek board-certified/board-eligible Internal Medicine/Pediatrics (Med/Peds) trained physicians to join the Division of General Internal Medicine. Academic rank and track are commensurate with academic record and experience. The physician will work in an outpatient Med-Peds primary care setting with potential inpatient time, participate in teaching, and engage in collaborative research and quality improvement as available.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide licensed medical care including diagnosis, treatment, case management, and clinical research in outpatient and/or inpatient settings.
- Conduct ambulatory clinics; interview and review medical histories; perform physical examinations; order procedures and diagnostic testing; determine and implement treatment plans and medications.
- Document services in the medical record; educate patients and families to promote wellness, prevention, and early detection; provide materials and resources as appropriate.
- Engage in quality assessment and improvement activities; serve as a preceptor and provide training to residents, fellows, and medical students; ensure continuing medical education requirements are met.
- Participate in department, college, medical center, and university committees and other service activities.
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics (Med-Peds) or equivalent.
- State of Ohio license and DEA licensure required.
