JOB PURPOSE Reporting to the Centralized Programs Manager the Physician Scheduler is responsible for scheduling of physician and providing after hours support for scheduling emergencies. The Physician Scheduler will be a primary point of contact for physicians and the clinic manager.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Support physician recruitment efforts by providing scheduling insights as needed. Assist with onboarding logistics Orientation of new physicians including hours of practice, location and work schedule preferences. Scheduling of physicians to ensure coverage for all clinics.
Work with Regional Operations Managers to identify appropriate physician placement and to ensure that there is staff on hand to support the physician. Ensure website, wait timer and google hours reflect physician schedules and clinic opening hours. Develop backup plans for unexpected absences.
Contact physicians when they are running behind to ensure they are attending the clinic. Track physician absences, late nesses or brought forward by the clinic. Liaising with Operations regarding physician scheduling matters Liaising with the physician recruiter regarding any recruitment needs and potential hires Completing monthly physician on call schedule Proactively identify opportunities to optimize the scheduling process.
On call evenings and bi-weekly weekends and when Lead Physician Scheduler is away. Ensure physicians have current licensing Ensures physicians are trained in the use of scheduling software Aware of the organizations core purpose and exemplifies the organization’s core values. Foster a collaborative environment where physicians feel supported and valued.
Treat physicians as key customers—prioritise their satisfaction alongside patient care. Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 2 years scheduling experience, multi-unit scheduling is an asset Detail oriented with exceptional problem solving skills Demonstrated ability to be adaptable and flexible Strong computer skills including Excel Customer service focus with strong written and oral communication skills including negotiation skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
