Opportunity
The Portfolio Analytics Associate Director is a key contributor toward operational effectiveness and efficiency, leveraging technology-based solutions to streamline efficiencies, enable insightful program-level reporting, and support the reduction of investment and operational risk. This role sits within Barings Portfolio Finance’s Portfolio Analytics team, which is responsible for Data & Analytics, Operational Infrastructure, Management Reporting, Track Record, and Credit Modeling.
Team
The team is small, close-knit, and highly collaborative, focusing on originating investment-grade senior secured loans to asset managers and investment vehicles across private equity, private credit, and real estate debt. The Portfolio Finance team has originated over $38billion in private investments since 2017.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine data cleansing/pre-processing and automate data transformation processes.
- Critically evaluate information from multiple source systems and reconcile discrepancies to ensure sound data quality.
- Participate in technology and automation initiatives to streamline integration with internal partners, borrowers, investors, and third‑party vendors.
- Support maintenance of Barings’s proprietary portfolio monitoring database and continuously assess data quality and integrity.
- Identify process improvement solutions and support development of predictive analytic capabilities.
- Produce and automate regularly scheduled and ad‑hoc management reports to enable decision making for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assess new investor reporting requirements and support ongoing delivery.
- Identify, analyze and interpret financial data and uncover trends within large and complex data sets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, data science, or analytics; 5–8+ years of experience in data management within a financial context.
- Strong knowledge and experience with analytic tools and programming languages (Python/R, SQL; VBA a plus).
- Excellent command of Microsoft Excel and understanding of relational database management systems.
- Willingness to learn complex lending structures and legal documents and translate economic and risk factors into financial models and tools.
- Demonstrated interest and experience with operational enablement through technology.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, self‑starter, and ability to multitask and deliver on tight timelines.
- Clear, confident communication with stakeholders.

Compensation
Base Salary Range: $105,000–125,000 and additional incentive compensation.
