Principal Product Designer

We are seeking an experienced Principal Product Designer to play a central role in shaping user experiences for a strategic product. In this senior, hands-on role you will partner with product leadership and design to identify, validate, and deliver solutions that create measurable value for users. You will translate complex IT manager workflows into intuitive, efficient interfaces and help evolve design practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for high-impact initiatives, taking ownership of end-to-end product experiences.
• Own and advocate for the design system: define standards, guide principles, and drive adoption across product teams.
• Set and elevate design quality through direction, critique, and clear craftsmanship standards.
• Mentor and raise the craft of other designers through hands-on collaboration, critique, and skill development (without direct people management).
• Provide strategic design leadership across complex, cross-functional product areas and identify the most valuable opportunities for product improvement.
• Advance AI-native workflows by evaluating and integrating emerging tools that accelerate concept-to-production cycles and improve team productivity.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to iterate quickly, ship with urgency, and champion customer needs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product design experience with substantial leadership impact at a staff/principal level or equivalent.
• Strong B2B portfolio demonstrating ownership of discovery, user research, and end-to-end product design.
• Exceptional design craft, visual sensibility, and attention to detail that consistently raise product and brand quality.
• Proven track record of delivering high-impact projects in complex, multi-team environments with strong product judgment.
• Experience mentoring designers and improving team capabilities through constructive feedback and example-setting.
• Ability to define and socialize design quality standards and principles that uplift the organization.
• Comfortable applying first-principles thinking to complex problems rather than relying solely on established UX patterns.
• Confident, persuasive communicator able to influence without direct authority.
• Technical fluency and willingness to work closely with engineering and emerging AI-driven tools to enhance the product development process.
