Private Chef Job
Greycoat Lumleys
Job Description
Private Chef – Chelsea, London
A lovely British family based in Chelsea are seeking an experienced and health-focused Private Chef to join their household on a long‑term basis. The family consists of two adults and two school‑aged children and are looking for a chef who can provide delicious, nutritious home‑cooked meals while managing all aspects of kitchen organisation and provisioning.
The role will involve preparing daily lunches and dinners, with occasional breakfasts, tailored to the family's preference for healthy, seasonal and organic food. The mother typically eats lunch at home while the children are at school, while the father joins for dinner later in the evening. The family enjoy fresh, wholesome meals and are looking for a chef with excellent knowledge of nutrition, seasonal produce and healthy cooking.
The successful candidate will be responsible for menu planning, sourcing ingredients, provisioning and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen. Menus should be prepared in advance and submitted to the family's EA for approval. The chef will be expected to take ownership of food ordering and budgeting, purchasing high‑quality produce from suppliers such as Daylesford, Planet Organic, Ben's Organic and Andreas.
This is an informal household with the support of housekeepers who assist with service. The family rarely entertain and do not require the chef to travel with them. They are away during school holidays and spend Christmas abroad each year.
The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive and confident discussing menu ideas with the family. They should be passionate about healthy eating, knowledgeable about seasonal ingredients and able to work independently while maintaining high standards.
