Job Description
Location: Hybrid/Remote - UK/Europe based
PPAYA is a UK-facing renewable energy matching and trading marketplace operating within the UK regulated electricity market. We’re building a complex, domain-heavy product for the UK energy market and are hiring a Product Analyst to own product refinement end-to-end. You’ll talk to UK customers, shape flows, and translate what you learn into clear specs and designs, that the engineering team can build from.
This is a customer-facing, output-oriented role. You’ll work directly with the CTO/founder and have real ownership over the front end of our product process, from “we should talk to X about Y” through to the user stories and Figma flows that go into the next sprint.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Run customer discovery and user research calls with UK customers, surfacing needs, validating ideas and synthesising findings
- Work closely with a UI/UX designer to create roadmaps
- Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria that engineering can implement from
- Support roadmap and prioritisation decisions by helping shape what gets built next and why
- Use data analysis and product metrics to track whether shipped features are working as intended
Personal skills and experience
- Experience in a Product Analyst role at a software company
- Comfortable using Figma for wireframing and prototyping, with a focus on solid flows rather than pixel-perfect design
- Ability to conduct competitive analysis, research alternatives, spot gaps and translate insight into product direction
- Native or fluent English, with the confidence to run regular discovery calls with UK clients
- Strong customer-facing skills and the ability to have a strong presence on calls
- Must have the ability to probe to gle in information but will also be a good listener
- B2B SaaS or marketplace experience would be beneficial
- Exposure to energy, utilities, fintech or another regulated domain would be helpful, although energy experience is not essential
- Experience working with small or remote engineering teams would be advantageous
- Comfort with Agile/Scrum rituals such as sprint planning and refinement would be useful

- Technical skills: Figma, wireframing, prototyping, user stories, acceptance criteria, product analytics, competitive analysis and Agile/Scrum ways of working
