About the Role: Support Strategic Costing Team in cost improvement process by providing an effective industrial engineering and apparel product engineering service. Assist merchandising and sourcing teams to ensure validation/reduction in product costs by undertaking cost improvement analysis as outlined by Strategic Costing Process.
Responsibilities:Study, evaluate and assess new styles/ developments for “Raw Material Consumptions” and “Cut Make Cost”Initiate CIP analysis by collecting all relevant data for product cost review as specified by Strategic CostingGet any discrepancy or ambiguity in information rectified by concerned merchandising or supplier teamsReview Fabric consumption and cost derivation, trims cost, SAM and Cost/SMV detailsSample analysis, estimation and validation of Standard Minute Value (SMV). Identify manufacturing processes, prepare/ validate operation break-down sheets, calculate time standards in accordance with Strategic Costing guidelinesSuggesting better methods, techniques, machinery and equipment to reduce production time and costReview patterns for specs, shrinkage, wastage, grading, ratios etc. Create markers on Gerber software and estimate raw material consumptions using software in accordance with Strategic Costing guidelinesDo a comparative study of quoted vs calculated costs as per Strategic Costing methodologyConvey analysis results and provide inputs to merchandising/sourcing team through mails or as requiredProvide post analysis assistance to merchandisers and sourcing in improving costsResearch, gather and compile data as required by key stakeholders for reports, study or tools.
Conduct market research, create reports and undertake special assignments as requiredVisit and work with suppliers to prepare/ validate the following:Improving operational efficiencies on the shop floor, by process mapping, auditsAssessing costs and identifying areas of improvement
Qualifications:Education: Manufacturing Technology degree or Industrial Engineering/ Production Engineering degree holder from a recognized universityExperience: Minimum of 7-9 years in apparel (both woven and knits) with exposure to product costing and industrial engineering concepts and toolsSkills: Sound oral and written communication Skills, Analytical Skills, Attention to detail, Team OrientationWorking Knowledge: Working knowledge of Marker Making Software and apparel value chain and factory cost structures would be preferred
