Job Title: Production SupervisorLocation: Machesney Park, ILDepartment: Plant Management/ProductionReports to: Plant ManagerEffective Date: July 2026Job Summary: Directs and supervises all activities of assigned shift to ensure scheduled production is achieved and quality standards are met. Supervisory Responsibilities:10 or more direct reports Duties/Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in molding, CNC machining, assembly, and fabrication of plastic and metal products. Monitors and analyses operating reports to ensure operational efficiency and labor utilization. Reviews production schedules and work orders and assigns duties to workers according to order priorities.
Studies quality control reports to identify product defects and directs machine technicians to adjust machines to eliminate flaws. Drives continual improvement efforts such as 6S and participates in corrective action analysis, implementation, and validation. Ensures material availability at the process and communicates shortages and/or inventory discrepancies.
Identifies BOM variances and ensures that processes are corrected to meet the BOM requirements or communicate to Operations if the BOM needs adjusted. Conducts or directs training of new employees in all departments of manufacturing. Propose and participate actively in continuous improvement activities Promote performance improvement on the floor Confers with management and other supervisors to resolve production problems.
Ensures safety requirements are met by enforcing the use of personal protective equipment (i.e., safety glasses, etc.) and requiring team members to keep work areas clean and uncluttered. Qualifications and Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum one to 3-years supervisory experience in CNC Machining or 2-3-years in other Quality critical manufacturing environment such as Aerospace or Automotive. Basic computer skills to enter data.
High School or general education degree (GED) preferred. The ability to communicate and comprehend the English language, both verbally and written. The ability to work with coworkers in a team environment Able to navigate modern ERP systems, preferably IQMS Must be motivated, detail oriented, and self-directed.
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. Ability to work as a cooperative team player, treating all co-workers, customer, and suppliers with consideration and respect. Physical Requirements: Prolonged standing 8 - 12 hours.
