Employment Type: Full-time, Fixed Term 6-month contract.
Remuneration: Level 6 – from $103,866 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading (Pro‑rata).
Location: Kensington, NSW (Hybrid working model).
Overview
The Program Officer, Study Abroad provides essential operational support for the Learning Abroad team within the University Office of Global Affairs. The position coordinates inbound coursework and research practicum programs through administrative tasks, reporting, and stakeholder communication. By building internal and external relationships, the role enhances the international student experience and supports broader institutional goals.
The position carries no direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end‑to‑end delivery of programs, events, and initiatives while ensuring alignment with established time, cost, and quality metrics.
- Coordinate student engagement initiatives and provide appropriate pastoral care referrals by liaising with internal and external support services.
- Build and maintain collaborative professional relationships across faculties and divisions to support portfolio goals and inbound mobility targets.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies through effective communication with all relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development, review, and distribution of program resources, including policy guidelines, marketing collateral, and analytical reports.
- Organize workflows and data collection processes to support strategic planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement of study abroad programs.
Qualifications
- Possess relevant tertiary qualifications or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
- Demonstrate advanced written and verbal communication skills with rigorous attention to detail across all deliverables.
- Show a proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders while exercising initiative to resolve administrative issues independently.
- Exhibit high‑level computer literacy in MS Office and enterprise systems like PeopleSoft to manage data, reporting, and documentation.
- Apply excellent organizational skills to manage competing deadlines, changing priorities, and complex project logistics.
- Maintain a strong commitment to institutional values and policy compliance throughout the project lifecycle and program coordination.
