Arcadis is seeking a Tool Install Project Director to lead a high-volume EPCM tool installation project for a confidential semiconductor client in Boise, ID. In this role, you will oversee the planning, coordination, design and execution of tool installation work, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The Tool Install Project Director serves as the primary project-level owner, coordinating with Construction Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, Procurement, Project Controls and Design teams to drive execution while maintaining strong client relationships and alignment across all project phases, from planning and procurement through construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex semiconductor tool install projects, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives are achieved.
- Serve as the primary client point of contact, maintaining positive relationships and addressing project needs and concerns.
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams, including design, construction, commissioning, and subcontractors, ensuring alignment of schedules, deliverables, and quality expectations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and communication strategies.
- Monitor project performance, track milestones, and report project status to internal leadership and clients.
- Manage budgets, change orders, and project cost performance in collaboration with project controls and accounting teams.
- Ensure projects comply with safety programs, quality standards, and client procedures.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and closeout documentation.
- Participate in pull planning, design reviews, and field coordination meetings to proactively address risks and resolve issues.
- Mentor and provide guidance to the PM, CM and project support staff as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned processes across projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7–12 years of related project management experience in construction or technical environments; semiconductor or high-tech experience strongly preferred.
- Experience managing large or complex projects within EPCM delivery model.
- Proven experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, including design, construction, commissioning, and vendors.
- Strong experience in client engagement and stakeholder management, including reporting, escalation, and issue resolution.
- Experience with semiconductor tool install projects in High Volume Manufacturing or R&D facilities strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, and other project management software.
- PMP, PE, or AIA credentials preferred but not required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to make decisions independently and drive project outcomes.
- Ability to provide legal US work authorization documents required. Will consider US domestic travelers and relocation.
