THE OPPORTUNITY We are partnering with one of Canada’s leading Employee-Owned Tier 1 Contractors to appoint a Project Director – Major Healthcare Projects.
This is a strategic executive leadership position responsible for overseeing the planning, governance and successful delivery of major healthcare infrastructure projects across Ontario. These are not standard projects. These are complex, high-profile hospital developments delivered through sophisticated procurement and delivery models involving multiple stakeholders, public-sector partners and significant investment.
You will operate at the intersection of construction leadership, commercial strategy and project governance. WHAT YOU’LL BE LEADING Major New Build Hospitals ️ Institutional Healthcare Infrastructure Multi-Billion-Dollar Programmes P3, Alliance & Design-Build Delivery Models This is a role for leaders who know how to navigate complexity and drive results. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Lead the full lifecycle delivery of major healthcare projects from planning through commissioning Develop project strategies aligned to client vision and financial objectives Drive budgeting, forecasting, scheduling and project controls Lead risk management and commercial decision-making Oversee financing, procurement and contractual strategy Ensure compliance with healthcare and regulatory requirements Engage confidently with government agencies, boards and executive stakeholders Lead multidisciplinary and joint venture teams Drive innovation and modern delivery approaches across projects Mentor and develop future leadership talent Champion safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR ✔️ 20 years construction experience ✔️ 10 years in senior project leadership ✔️ Major healthcare or institutional delivery experience essential ✔️ Proven delivery of projects exceeding $1B ✔️ Strong commercial and financial leadership capability ✔️ Experience within P3, EPC or Design-Build environments ✔️ Joint venture and multinational stakeholder experience ✔️ Strong executive communication and leadership capability ✔️ Track record building high-performing teams and safety cultures ⭐ PREFERRED BACKGROUND Construction / Engineering / Related Qualification P.Eng / PMP or Equivalent Certification Public-Sector Procurement Knowledge Capital Planning & Contract Negotiation Expertise Hospital & Healthcare Infrastructure Leadership Experience ⭐ WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT Employee-Owned Tier 1 Contractor Multi-Billion-Dollar Healthcare Portfolio Executive Leadership Responsibility Long-Term Infrastructure Pipeline Major Legacy Projects Collaborative Leadership Culture Relocation Support For You and Your Immediate Family The demand is not for juniors.
