Job Description
Reporting to the Principal – Project Manager, the Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating engineering activities, managing engineering consultants, and supporting the successful delivery of the Tabba Tabba Project.
The role will initially be split between Perth and site during project studies, transitioning to predominantly site-based work during construction, commissioning and operations. Following project completion, the position will continue to support the operation through sustaining capital projects, plant optimisation initiatives, reliability improvements and maintenance leadership.
In addition, the Project Engineer will provide leadership and oversight of the fixed plant planning and reliability functions, helping establish maintenance systems and drive plant performance throughout the life of the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support studies, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate and manage engineering consultants to deliver project milestones.
- Assist with project scopes, technical specifications, schedules and budgets.
- Monitor project progress and help resolve engineering and technical issues.
- Participate in site inspections, construction activities and commissioning readiness programs.
- Coordinate contractors and technical stakeholders during construction.
- Support safe and efficient project execution and commissioning activities.
- Assist with operational readiness and handover to operations teams.
- Build strong working relationships across operations, maintenance and technical services.
Sustaining Capital & Improvement Projects
- Manage sustaining capital and continuous improvement projects.
- Support process plant optimisation and operational performance initiatives.
- Assist with troubleshooting engineering and operational issues.
- Contribute to project reporting, budgeting and cost control activities.
Reliability & Maintenance Leadership
- Lead the fixed plant planning and reliability functions.
- Support the development of maintenance systems and work management processes.
- Coordinate shutdown planning and reliability improvement programs.
- Drive initiatives that improve equipment reliability and plant availability.
- Support maintenance budgeting, forecasting and spare parts strategies.
About You
- Mechanical, Process or Chemical Engineering qualification.
- Experience within mining, mineral processing or resource project environments.
- Experience managing engineering consultants and technical deliverables.
- Exposure to studies, construction, commissioning and operational readiness activities.
- Experience delivering sustaining capital or operational improvement projects.
- Strong understanding of process plant operations and reliability principles.
- Knowledge of fixed plant maintenance and reliability practices.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Lithium project or operational experience will be highly regarded.
