Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescriptionMorgan Corp. is currently seeking a Project Equipment Manager. In this role, you will lead the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of equipment assigned to Morgan Corp.'s construction projects. Working closely with project teams and the Equipment Division, you will drive equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and ensure maintenance activities support project success.
The successful candidate will lead project technicians, coordinate repairs, monitor equipment performance, and proactively address maintenance needs before they impact production. This position requires a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced field environments and takes ownership of equipment reliability throughout the life of a project. Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Operations & Fleet Management Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of all assigned project equipment.
Monitor equipment utilization and availability to ensure project demands are met. Coordinate equipment transfers, replacements, and mobilizations with Equipment Division leadership. Perform routine equipment inspections and verify compliance with company maintenance standards.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, utilization, and overall fleet performance. Maintenance Coordination & Technical Support Lead project maintenance activities and coordinate repairs with shop personnel, field technicians, and third-party vendors. Prioritize equipment repairs based on project schedules and operational needs.
Assist with diagnosing recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective actions. Ensure preventative maintenance programs are executed according to company standards. Support warranty claims, OEM service coordination, and major component repairs when required.
Project Operations Support Serve as the primary equipment contact for project managers, superintendents, and field leadership. Coordinate fuel delivery, lubrication services, parts availability, and equipment logistics. Monitor equipment downtime and communicate impacts to project leadership.
Maintain accurate equipment records, inspections, maintenance documentation, and reporting. Support startup and closeout activities for assigned projects. Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop project mechanics and technicians.
Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and developing equipment personnel. Foster strong communication between project teams, Equipment Division leadership, and vendors.
Safety & Continuous Improvement Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, environmental requirements, and regulatory standards. Participate in safety meetings, equipment planning sessions, and operational reviews. Analyze equipment performance trends and recommend process improvements.
Support initiatives that improve equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and project productivity. Ideal Candidate Experienced equipment leader with a strong background in heavy construction equipment. Comfortable balancing technical problem-solving with leadership responsibilities.
Thrives in fast-paced construction environments where priorities change daily. Builds strong relationships with project teams while maintaining high maintenance standards. Takes ownership of equipment performance and project success.

Someone who prefers working independently rather than leading and developing others. Someone looking for a highly predictable work schedule with limited project interaction. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise A high school diploma or GED is required.
An associate's degree or technical training in diesel technology, heavy equipment, construction management, or a related field is preferred. Five or more years of heavy equipment maintenance or equipment management experience is preferred. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
Experience with heavy civil construction equipment is required. AEMP Certified Equipment Manager (CEM) or Equipment Management Specialist (EMS) certification is preferred. A valid driver's license is required.
Strong knowledge of heavy construction equipment, preventative maintenance, and repair practices. Ability to lead technicians while supporting project operations. Experience interpreting maintenance reports, equipment data, and utilization trends.
Strong communication skills with project managers, superintendents, vendors, and Equipment Division personnel. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Viewpoint Vista experience preferred. Strong organizational, planning, and decision-making skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple equipment needs across active construction projects. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
