Job Description
A Data Center, Infrastructure, Project Manager oversees the end-to-end lifecycle of critical facility projects, including designing, constructing, and maintaining data center environments and specialized laboratory equipment. They are responsible for managing power, cooling, and hardware installation to ensure maximum uptime, efficiency, and safety. Core Responsibilities: ● Project Management & Planning: Leading large-scale data center expansions, infrastructure upgrades, and lab equipment installations, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
● Infrastructure & Facility Operations: Overseeing power systems, liquid cooling, and environmental controls (H/CaC) to optimize performance and sustainability. ● Hardware Lifecycle Management: Managing the entire hardware lifecycle from purchase order (PO) to installation, including inventory tracking, asset management, and vendor coordination. ● Supply Chain & Logistics: Coordinating with suppliers for equipment delivery and managing on-site logistics, such as remote hands for installation.
● Risk Mitigation & Compliance: Ensuring compliance with data privacy, security, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO). Developing mitigation plans for potential equipment failures or supply chain disruptions. ● Vendor Management: Managing relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers for maintenance and repair, including Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes. Required Skills and Qualifications:
● Experience: 3 – 10+ years in project management, specifically within data centers or critical infrastructure environments, Excellent communication skills. ● Coordinate across the globe, Expansion of data center, standardize, data center and infrastructure improvement. ● Technical Knowledge: Understanding of IT infrastructure (server, storage, networking), data center design principles, and DCIM tools.
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or IT-related fields. ● Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent is often preferred. ● Tools: Familiarity with MS Project, Jira, and inventory management software.
