Job Summary
Math tutors provide content and skill‑development tutoring to College of the Mainland students individually or in small groups.
Position Information
- Position Type: Non‑Exempt Staff
- Employment Status: Part‑Time
- Funding Type: Regular
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Math or STEM related field required.
- Some tutoring or teaching experience.
- Master’s in Math or STEM related field preferred.
- Experience at a Community College preferred.
- Familiarity with TSI and HESI test.
- Must be able to tutor through Calculus II and Developmental Mathematics (graphing calculator).
- Preferred: ability to tutor through Calculus III and knowledge of Statistics, Finite Math, and Quantitative Reasoning.
Job Duties
- Provide content and skill‑development tutoring to students individually or in small groups.
- Maintain a tutoring schedule as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of tutoring sessions.
- Attend and complete required tutor training.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all student information, material, and discussions shared in the tutoring relationship.
- Perform additional related job duties as required.
Salary
Minimum salary: $16.25 per hour.
