Job Description
Description:
Company: Scout Design Studio
Location: Dallas, TX (In-Person / Warehouse & Production Studio)
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $18 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7am-3:30pm
At Scout Design Studio, we curate, design, and restore unique, high-style furniture and art. Our team transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, and we pride ourselves on delivering bold, high-quality pieces to our clients. Because our furniture is often custom-finished or uniquely sourced, the final presentation is everything.
We are looking for a meticulous, hands-on Quality Assurance & Packaging Associate to join our production team. You will be the final line of defense and the last set of eyes on our furniture before it leaves our studio and heads into our clients' homes.
Role Overview
Working at the very end of our furniture production line, you will be responsible for the "final touch" of the creation process. You will inspect finished pieces for perfection, add the final hardware, buff out any minor imperfections, and package each piece securely. Your work ensures that what our design team envisions and what the customer orders is exactly what is delivered—flawlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Final Detailing & Finishing: Install hardware (handles, pulls, hinges), perform light buffing, and apply any final polishes or touch-ups to bring the piece to life.
- Rigorous Quality Control: Inspect every piece of furniture with a keen eye for detail. You will verify that the finished product matches the customer’s sales order (correct finishes, hardware placement, and custom requests) and check for any scratches, dents, or paint imperfections.
- Secure Packaging: Wrap, pad, and protect finished furniture using appropriate materials. Your packaging must be secure enough to withstand transit while remaining easy for our in-house white-glove delivery team to unwrap and set up.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with our painters, builders, and the logistics/white-glove delivery crew to ensure a seamless handoff from the warehouse floor to the delivery truck.
- Maintain a Clean Workspace: Keep the final inspection and packaging area organized, clean, and stocked with necessary hardware and wrapping supplies.
Requirements:Qualifications & Skills
- Eye for Detail: You notice the tiny imperfections that others miss—a faint scratch, a slightly misaligned handle, or a mismatched finish.
- Hands-On Experience: Comfortable using basic hand tools, power drills, and buffing equipment. Experience in furniture manufacturing, restoration, cabinet making, or high-end retail warehouse environments is a huge plus.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver heavy furniture pieces (often 50+ lbs) throughout the day.
- Quality-Driven Mindset: You take pride in your work and understand that your signature on a piece represents the Scout brand.
- Strong Communication: Ability to read and interpret sales orders accurately and communicate any defects back to the production team for correction.
