Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Quality Control Engineer role based in Coimbatore.
The Quality Control Engineer will inspect machined and fabricated components using appropriate measuring instruments, interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and verify that parts meet defined tolerances and quality standards. The role includes establishing and following inspection plans, documenting test results, and supporting root-cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances. The person in this role will collaborate closely with production, engineering, and management to improve processes, reduce defects, and maintain compliance with internal and customer requirements.
Daily responsibilities also include monitoring quality records, assisting with audits, and recommending continuous improvement initiatives in line with quality management best practices. Qualifications Strong foundation in Quality Control and Quality Assurance, with experience in inspection methods, measurement tools, and documenting non-conformances. Proficiency in Quality Management practices, including creating or following quality plans, procedures, and checklists, and supporting internal or customer audits.
Well-developed Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify trends, perform root-cause analysis, and propose effective corrective and preventive actions. Clear and professional Communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, preparing reports, and discussing quality issues with production and engineering staff. Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience in a machining or metal fabrication setting, ideally with CNC machining, sheet metal, or pipe and tube components. Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, basic statistical quality tools, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) is an advantage. Ability to work with attention to detail, follow safety and quality procedures, and manage priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
