Recreation Director

We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and highly organized professional to lead our recreation program at The W Assisted Living Communities.

Full‑time position. Work days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in recreation management or a related field, with knowledge of a variety of recreational areas: Art, Music, Dance, Trivia, Games, Exercise, Movies, Literature, and Poetry.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and engage residents and staff.
• Ability to design, organize, and oversee diverse recreational activities that meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of all residents.
• Excellent communication skills to lead activities in large groups, small groups, and one‑on‑one settings.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, residents, and external community partners.
• Creative problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt programs to meet resident needs.
• College degree is required; experience in recreation, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee all recreation programs and activities to ensure a vibrant and engaging resident experience.
• Supervise recreation staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high‑quality programming.
• Coordinate services and events with community agencies and resources to enhance the offerings of the recreation department.
• Regularly evaluate programs and gather resident feedback to continuously improve and adapt activities.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Manage the recreation department budget, scheduling, and resources efficiently.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the facility’s mission and resident well‑being.
