Position Details: Mercy Hospital Springfield - ImagingFull-TimeOverview:The IR Nurse is responsible for pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure monitoring and support, and post-procedure recovery and patient education. This position requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, procedural environment.Key Responsibilities:Prepare patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, labs, and obtaining informed consentAdminister medications, including moderate sedation, in accordance with protocolsMonitor patient status and vital signs throughout proceduresAssist physicians while maintaining sterile techniqueIdentify and respond to complications or emergenciesProvide post-procedure care, recovery monitoring, and discharge instructionsEducate patients and families on procedures, risks, and follow-up careCollaborate with radiology, nursing, and ancillary teams to ensure seamless workflowQualifications:Education: Graduated from a school of nursing.Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certifications:Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Why Mercy?
