Shift Schedule

12‑hour night shift (7:00pm–7:30am). Minimum commitment of 144 hours per six‑week schedule, which includes 4 weekend shifts per schedule, 1 winter holiday shift (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day) and 1 spring/summer holiday shift (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day).

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide high‑quality patient care, directly or indirectly, using professional nursing knowledge and skills.

Unit Overview

The unit monitors patients in a 4:1–6:1 nurse‑to‑patient ratio, with double rooms and approximately 48 beds. Key responsibilities include assessing learning needs, coordinating patient education, documenting admission assessments and re‑assessments, and maintaining communication via the information management system.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize work assignments based on changing patient situations.
• Communicate patient transfers and pertinent information at bedside and during interprofessional rounds.
• Integrate patient special needs into individualized care plans and recognize potential abuse for referral.
• Include pain management and supportive care in the plan of care.
• Adhere to infection control standards, promoting a safe and clean environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing school.
• PA RN License, AHA BLS certification.
