The RN evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinates patient care collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Position Details: Mercy's Labor & Birth unit provides compassionate, high-quality care to mothers and newborns across the full continuum-from low-risk deliveries to high-risk antenatal care. Our team delivers care in a highly collaborative, faith-based environment supported 24/7 by in-house OB hospitalists, anesthesia, and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists.
This unit is known for safe staffing ratios, advanced clinical expertise, and a strong commitment to excellence, with many nurses holding national certifications.Career Path: Often floats to other Women's and children's units and is a great place to learn more about NICU and Mother/BabyRatio: 3-1:1Education:Required:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (associate degree, Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing)Preferred:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) LicensureRequired:Current Registered Nurse license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performedMust meet all applicable state Board of Nursing requirementsRN is personally responsible for maintaining active licensurePreferred:Previous clinical experience related to the hiring unitCertificationsRequired:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hireUnit-Specific / May Be Required:Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse (CPHON)Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS)S.T.A.B.L.E.
