This role drives the strategic use of technology and process innovation to improve accuracy, efficiency, academic advising, and student success. The Registrar ensures the integrity of academic records while championing user-centered, technology-enhanced services that support students from enrollment through graduation.Core Values and CompetenciesCommitment to accuracy, integrity, and service excellenceAbility to interpret and apply policy consistentlyAbility to lead change and build cross‑functional partnershipsTechnological fluency and systems thinkingStrong analytical and problem‑solving skillsKey ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership and Service InnovationDevelop and implement strategies that enhance service delivery, streamline processes, and support institutional goalsLead the digital transformation of registrar operations, emphasizing a student-first mindset, and leverage technology to reduce friction, improve transparency, and create seamless user experienceCollaborate with senior leadership on enrollment planning, academic policy, course and degree planning, and student success initiativesEvaluate emerging technologies (e.g., degree‑planning tools, AI‑assisted advising, workflow automation) and guide adoption to improve service deliveryImplement self‑service tools that empower students and faculty to manage registration, degree audits, transcripts, and graduation requirementsStudent Information System and Data GovernanceServe as the functional lead for the student information system (Jenzabar), leading continuous improvement to ensure optimal configuration, data integrity, and system reliabilityWork with IT and IR to develop dashboards and analytics that provide real‑time insights into enrollment trends, course demand, and academic progressWork with IT and IR to develop data governance practices and data standards related to academic dataMaintain digital curriculum and catalog systems, ensuring alignment between academic programs, SIS configuration, and degree audit toolsAcademic Policy, Records, Compliance, and ReportingServe on the Academic Leadership Team and Academic Affairs Committee to advise and implement academic policy and initiativesEnsure the accuracy, security, and confidentiality of academic records in compliance with FERPA and other regulationsOversee transcript production, degree audits, grade processing, academic standings, and maintenance of official academic recordsInterpret and enforce academic policies, working closely with Academic Affairs and governance bodiesProvide data and reporting to support accreditation, institutional research, and regulatory complianceEnrollment Services and Catalog ManagementManage all registration processes, including course scheduling, add/drop, withdrawals, and waitlistsManage course and degree planning to ensure efficient use of space, faculty resources, and appropriate time to degreeOversee degree audit processes, graduation applications, and conferral of degreesEnsure timely and accurate production of diplomas and verification of academic credentialsOversee the academic calendar, ensuring alignment with institutional needs and regulatory requirementsMaintain the university catalog, ensuring accurate representation of academic programs, policies, and requirementsProvide guidance to students and faculty on registration, academic standing, and degree requirementsSupport commencement planning and executionOperational Leadership and CollaborationSupervise and develop a team skilled in data management, technology adoption, and student‑centered serviceBuild strong partnerships with academic departments, advising, IT, and student services to ensure cohesive systems and data-informed decision-makingRepresent the university in state, regional, and national registrar associationsChair and serve on appropriate committeesManage Registrar budgetEducation, Specialized and/or Technical Knowledge Requirements Graduate degree in higher education, administration, or related fieldExperience in registrar operations, enrollment services, or academic systems administrationStrong knowledge of FERPA, academic policy, and higher‑education compliance requirementsExperience with student information systems and related technologiesPhysical Job RequirementsTools and Equipment UsedPersonal computer, copier, phone and other typical office equipmentTravelMinimal – less than 5% of the timePhysical & Mental DemandsFrequently required to sit at/in a desk/vehicle for long period of timeAbility to work at a computer terminal for extended periods of timeDigital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of all assigned equipmentAbility to speak to and hear employees/students via phone or in personBody motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move around all areas of the campusAbility to analyze data and other reports and make recommendationsMental requirements include: compare, decide, direct, problem solve, analyze, instruct, interpret
