Revenue Officer- Based in the City
- Full‑time role! 1‑year limited tenure covering parental leave
A rewarding role exists for a suitably experienced Revenue Officer to join the Revenue team at the City of Darwin. This is a fixed‑term limited tenure position covering 1‑year parental leave.
Reporting to the Supervisor Revenue, your average day will be a combination of:
- Liaise with the general public and relevant stakeholders (e.g. lawyers, conveyancers, debt collectors, and Government Departments) on matters pertaining to Rates and Debtor accounts.
- Provide accurate and timely advice in relation to Rates and Debtor matters to City of Darwin’s customers and staff.
- Assist in the preparation, input and checking of all payment related transactions concerning the rates and debtor ledgers.
The ideal candidate will be someone capable of providing a high level of customer service, have exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills which can be applied in a variety of situations. If you have the below pre‑requisites and a passion to join a fast‑paced team, we want YOU!
The role is Level 3/4 based on experience. To be successful in this position you will need to have:
Level 3:
- Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or equivalent qualification and / or experience.
- Hold and maintain a Class C driver's licence.
- Obtain and maintain a National Police Records Check Clearance.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a finance related position including demonstrated experience in the use of computerised accounting systems and Excel.
Level 4:
- Diploma in accounting or related studies and/or a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in finance or accounting role.
- A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a finance‑related position, including demonstrated experience in the use of computerised accounting systems and Excel.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in local government rates section.

This position has a commencing base salary of $73,789.06 (Level 3) – $81,784.36 (Level 4) per annum plus superannuation 12% (For employees under EA).
