Scheduler – Electrical and Instrumentation
Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Scheduler – Electrical and Instrumentation to work at the Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position operates on a 5x2 or 4x3 schedule depending on business needs.
Position is not a fly‑in‑fly‑out role.
Summary
Reporting to the Electrical Planning Supervisor, the Scheduler – Electrical and Instrumentation produces and manages schedules for approved work orders, ensuring resource allocation and planning meet target start dates for all non‑break‑in tasks.
Responsibilities
- Practice safe work behaviors and support the Mine safety culture through daily and monthly safety meetings and initiatives.
- Adhere strictly to PPE requirements in all areas while on mine property.
- Follow all Company policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Execute the Schedule Work element of the Work Management process.
- Comply with quality specifications and authority levels outlined in the documentation.
- Schedule approved work orders for execution before the Target Start Date.
- Review daily work order status to schedule newly approved work, assist in setting an integrated schedule, and track upcoming work.
- Identify and raise all critical issues that hinder resource procurement to ensure work orders are completed by their Target Start Date.
- Collaborate with departments to communicate timing and impact of scheduled tasks.
- Plan tasks to minimize resource demand and operate without exceeding the Target Start Date.
- Perform any additional scheduler duties as required or assigned by the department head.
Education & Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of scheduling/planning experience in the maintenance industry, preferably mine/mill processing related.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with a computerized maintenance planning/scheduling system (SAP).
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Experience using scheduling software such as MS Project or similar is an asset.
- Valid Class 5/7N British Columbia driver’s license and personal transportation.
Required Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of mill, crusher, HV Electrical Systems, and Utility Distribution.
- Strong understanding of principles of preventative maintenance and maintenance planning.
- Ability to work efficiently and safely without supervision.
- Collaborative teamwork orientation.
- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Requirement to meet pre‑employment testing requirements.
Working Conditions
- Occasional exposure to adverse temperature conditions.
- Routine participation in team meetings.
- Time spent on computer for online work.
- Exposure to noisy, dusty, and wet environments.
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions and operating light vehicles, including winter driving on varied terrain.
Rate of Pay
$106,470 – $118,300 per annum.
