Job Description – Security Engineer (L2) ## Location - Gurgaon (On-Site) ## Experience - 4–8 Years ## Role Summary The Security Engineer (L2) will be responsible for assessing, configuring, optimizing, and supporting Cisco Layer-2 Switching and Cisco Firepower Next-Generation Firewall environments. The role includes implementing security controls, reviewing network and firewall architectures, integrating security logs with SIEM platforms, performing health checks, and maintaining operational documentation. ## Key Responsibilities ### Cisco Layer-2 Switch Security Assess Cisco Layer-2 switching environments and identify security improvement opportunities. Review VLAN architecture and provide recommendations for enhanced security and segmentation.

Configure and implement switch hardening controls. Implement NAC-related controls where applicable. Configure security controls and network security best practices.

Review and secure management plane configurations. Integrate switch logs with SIEM platforms for monitoring and analysis. Troubleshoot security and configuration issues related to switching infrastructure. ### Cisco Firepower Next-Generation Firewall Assess existing Cisco Firepower deployments and configurations.

Review firewall architecture and security policies. Optimize firewall rule bases to improve security and operational efficiency. Configure and maintain IPS/IDS policies.

Configure URL filtering and application control policies. Configure malware protection integrations and related security controls. Review VPN configurations and implement appropriate VPN profiles.

Implement firewall security best practices and recommended controls. Perform firewall health checks and performance tuning activities. Troubleshoot firewall-related incidents and configuration issues.

Integrate firewall logs with SIEM platforms. Prepare and maintain operational and configuration documentation. ## Required Skills Cisco Layer-2 Switching VLAN Architecture and Segmentation Switch Hardening Network Access Control (NAC) Management Plane Security Cisco Firepower NGFW Firewall Policy Management IPS/IDS Configuration URL Filtering Application Control Malware Protection VPN Configuration and Management SIEM Integration and Log Management Performance Tuning and Health Checks Technical Documentation ## Preferred Qualifications Experience working in enterprise network security environments. Hands-on experience with Cisco switching and Cisco Firepower technologies.
