Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional with hands-on experience supporting the Romanian market. The successful candidate will play a key role in month-end close activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, and maintaining the integrity of accounting records.
A strong understanding of Romanian accounting requirements and extensive journal entry experience is absolutely essential for success in this position.
Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger & Month-End Close
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries across various accounting areas
- Manage accruals, prepayments, provisions, and other month-end adjustments
- Support and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
Financial Reporting & Reconciliations
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reporting
- Analyze financial data and provide explanations for significant fluctuations
Romanian Market Accounting
- Support accounting activities related to Romania
- Ensure compliance with local accounting requirements, controls, and policies
- Act as a key contact for finance stakeholders supporting Romanian operations
- Collaborate with tax, audit, and external partners where required
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Support audits and internal control activities
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and enhance efficiency
- Participate in finance transformation and system improvement initiatives
- Ensure adherence to company policies and financial control procedures
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with finance colleagues across multiple countries
- Share knowledge and support junior team members where applicable
- Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and queries
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience (Senior Accountant level preferably 4-6+ years)
- Strong experience supporting the Romanian market
- Extensive hands-on journal entry experience is mandatory
- Solid understanding of General Ledger and Record-to-Report processes
- Experience with month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Fluent English required
- Romanian language skills would be a strong advantage
