Senior Cost Estimator

Matchtech is supporting a key client with the requisition of Lead Estimators to support a growing portfolio of high-profile projects across real estate, infrastructure, and energy.

These positions offer the opportunity to work in a client-facing, commercially focused environment, delivering high-quality cost management and estimating services on complex, large-scale programmes.

The Opportunity

• Lead project-level cost planning and estimating activities
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and project documentation
• Develop detailed estimates, cost plans, and Bills of Quantities
• Support cost benchmarking and database development
• Work closely with clients to provide accurate and strategic cost advice
• Provide leadership across major energy sector bids and projects
• Oversee and review estimating outputs across multiple workstreams
• Lead proposal development and commercial submissions
• Mentor and develop junior estimators
• Act as a key client interface on major programmes
• Key Requirements

Experience:

• Senior Estimator: 5–8 years in cost estimating
• Strong estimating capability from concept through to detailed design
• Experience using tools such as CostX and On-Screen Takeoff
• Qualifications:
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
• Professional accreditation (CIQS, AACE or equivalent) preferred
• Core Competencies:
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to manage client relationships and deliver under pressure
• Experience building and maintaining cost databases and benchmarks
