Senior Data Solutions Architect

My Dublin City Centre based client is recruiting for a Senior Data Solutions Architect with experience designing enterprise-scale big data, event streaming, and real-time integration solutions. This is a hands-on architecture role focused on Cloudera, Kafka, AWS, and distributed data platforms. This is initially a 6 month contract with a view to be extended after that.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture for enterprise data and streaming platforms.
• Design solutions using Cloudera CDH/CDP, Kafka, Spark, HBase, Hive, Impala, NiFi, Flink, and AWS data services.
• Architect real-time data pipelines, event-driven integrations, APIs, and distributed data platforms.
• Define best practices for Kafka architecture, event streaming, scalability, resilience, and performance.
• Review technical designs, identify risks, and provide architecture leadership throughout delivery.
• Produce high-level solution designs and present to technical stakeholders and governance boards.
• 10+ years' IT experience, including 5+ years in Solution or Technical Architecture.
• Strong experience with Kafka or other event streaming technologies.
• Experience delivering large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and API-based solutions.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture, scalability, security, and resilience.

This role is not suited to candidates whose experience is primarily in BI, reporting, data analysis, data governance, or data modelling without hands-on solution architecture and delivery.
