Job Description
Responsibilities
- Own ECAD design execution for assigned scope, including planning, coordination, and delivery aligned to program schedules and engineering requirements.
- Perform hands‑on ECAD design and layout for complex printed circuit card assemblies including multilayer rigid, flex, and high‑density interconnect (HDI) designs.
- Support schematic capture and layout implementation while managing electrical and physical constraints (high‑speed, high‑voltage, high‑current).
- Communicate design status, technical risks, and schedule impacts with engineering stakeholders and program teams.
- Participate in and contribute to cross‑functional design reviews with Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Configuration Management.
- Develop and maintain complete ECAD documentation packages (fabrication, assembly, and design documentation).
- Manage ECAD data within PLM systems and ensure compliance with configuration‑management requirements.
- Incorporate DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly), and DFT (Design for Test) principles throughout the layout process.
- Troubleshoot complex design issues and resolve electrical, mechanical, and manufacturability challenges in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
- Provide technical guidance and informal mentorship to junior designers and support knowledge sharing across the ECAD team.
- Support adherence to ECAD standards, library usage, and best practices across programs.
- Make moderate improvements to ECAD processes, systems, and design practices to enhance performance, quality, and efficiency across the organization.
- Coordinate ECAD activities for small projects or defined work scopes.

- Experience designing multilayer PCB layouts and supporting complex electrical designs.
- Experience managing electrical and physical constraints within PCB design tools.
- Experience with Siemens Xpedition (VX or 2504 versions) for complex PCB layout design.
- Experience with high‑layer‑count PCBs and high‑speed digital interfaces.
- Familiarity with advanced PCB technologies (HDI, microvias, stacked microvias, flex circuits, backplanes).
- Experience with DDR4 / DDR5 and high‑speed design considerations.
- Knowledge of signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) principles.
- Experience with DFM/DFA/DFT implementation in PCB design.
- Familiarity with ECAD–MCAD data exchange processes.
- Experience working within PLM and configuration‑management systems.
- IPC CID / CID+ or PCEA certification preferred.
