Job Description
Senior Electrical Engineer – High Autonomy, Digital PCB Design & Innovation - Dallas, TX
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Electrical/Hardware Engineer who thrives on creative problem-solving and wants to escape the rigid bureaucracy of massive corporations. In this role, you will have a seat at the table from day one, driving complex digital PCB designs from initial concept and prototyping through to final manufacturing release.
If you love the pure craft of engineering and want to see your designs physically built under the very same roof, this is a rare, hands-on opportunity to make a visible impact on high-end avionics and technology systems.
Why should you apply here?
- Unmatched Stability & Growth: A profitable, local Dallas firm with a 39+ year legacy of market leadership, backed by a massive pipeline of future orders in a highly stable, inflation-resistant niche.
- 100% In-House Ecosystem: Say goodbye to frustrating overseas manufacturing delays. Our engineering and manufacturing teams work under one roof, allowing you to walk the floor, prototype rapidly, and iterate seamlessly.
- Zero Red Tape (Flat Structure): We maintain a flat organizational structure where your voice is heard, decisions are made fast, and creative “outside-the-box” engineering is genuinely celebrated.
- The Perfect Team Size: With 260 total staff and over 100 professionals at our Dallas location, we are large enough to win high-end, prestigious clients, yet small enough that your individual contributions directly shape our technology.
- Leadership You Can Trust: Work alongside a highly stable executive and engineering team committed to continuous technical innovation, continuous learning, and mentorship.
What will you be doing?
- Own digital and analog electrical design, infusing every project with creativity and precision.
- Spearhead projects, set the standard, and deliver exceptional designs that consistently surpass requirements.
- Drive schematic capture, delivering robust, industry-leading designs.
- Champion verification and validation, from board bring-up and troubleshooting to performance breakthroughs.
- Craft clear, insightful documentation—HALT summaries, test procedures, qualification reports, and detailed product drawings.
- Collaborate seamlessly with mechanical, software, and FPGA engineers to create innovative, multidisciplinary solutions.
- Innovate and implement design changes that boost manufacturability and robustness, working hand-in-hand with the sustaining engineering team.
- Stay ahead by exploring and evaluating emerging technologies and tools for next-generation products.
- Inspire and mentor junior engineers, building a culture of technical excellence and team expertise.
What skills/experience do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
- Senior level experience in electrical design, with a focus on developing integrated and multidisciplinary design solutions.
- Proficient in digital (mostly) and some analog circuit design, enabling the development of high-performing microcontroller, processor, and DSP systems.
- Experience with symbol/footprint design and schematic capture using OrCAD/Allegro/Altium, resulting in reliable, manufacturable designs.
- Work background in network/Ethernet designs and communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.), ensuring robust connectivity and efficient data transmission.
- Proficient with hardware diagnostic tools, resolving complex issues, and ensuring hardware reliability throughout development.
- Possess a strong electrical design approach by researching, interpreting, and applying specifications, datasheets, and hardware manuals to deliver effective solutions.
- Independent work style that consistently met specifications and schedule milestones, resulting in on-time completion of multiple complex projects.
What will make your résumé stand out?
- Experienced in embedded software design using C, Assembly, and related languages.
- Skilled in circuit simulation and analysis using tools such as LTspice and PSpice.
- Experienced with RTCA DO-160G environmental and electrical qualification, as well as similar aerospace standards.
- Proficient in FPGA and ASIC design, with the ability to use Xilinx FPGAs and associated toolsets.
