Senior Engineer

Our client is currently hiring a Senior Engineer to join their team based in Sligo.This is an excellent opportunity to work with one of Irelands top civil contractor companies. Key Responsibilities as Senior Site Engineer Responsible for supporting the Project Manager with the day to day running of the project. Subterranean services the water table, the soil's stability, the safety of the workers, the presence of poisonous materials, gases, etc.

Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project. Review detailed design, critique and communicate with designers to ensure adequate design is available for construction. Coordinate the development of design from designer's details to approved workshop drawings or technical information from subcontractors.

Knowledge of the organizations' HSQE management systems Must be aware of current legislation requirements pertaining to HSE Laws, or at the very least, must be aware of where to go for the necessary information. Knowledge of the Project's Form of Contract is required, as well as the effects that any variations or change orders will have on the budget and schedule. Reading & interpreting drawings for layouts, materials measure etc.

Planning works in an efficient manner to ensure program targets are achieved. Ordering and control of materials on site. Maintaining the site records and records of discussions/meetings with designers and subcontractors.

Good self-management, accuracy in own work, elimination of re-work and contractual awareness. Checking plans, drawings and supervision of setting out coordination. As an Engineer, you will be responsible for setting out and levelling of sites.

The Engineer will resolve unexpected technical difficulties and you will deal with any problems which arise. Attending regular meetings with clients, architects and consultants, and keeping them informed of progress. Quality management and BCAR co-ordination Overseeing quality control and safety matters on the site and ensuring that regulations are adhered to.

Supervise direct staff and sub-contractors. Handle technical queries when necessary and interface with the client, consultant and architect in regard to RFIs. Qualification Engineering Degree Client/Consultant interface in regard to RFI's etc.
