Position: Senior Financial Analyst Tenure: Full-Time, Permanent Location : Etobiocke Compensation : $90,000 Position Overview: Our client is seeking a highly analytical and driven finance professional to support strategic financial planning, reporting, and operational decision-making across its investment portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to join a unique private equity firm that takes a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach to investing and value creation. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in financial planning and analysis, financial modelling, reporting, and accounting operations, ideally within private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or a similarly fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, and strategic business initiatives while partnering closely with senior leadership. What Will You Be Doing? Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range strategic planning processes.
Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support business planning and investment decisions. Perform detailed variance analysis and provide insights into business performance and financial results. Conduct ROI analysis, feasibility studies, and business case evaluations to support strategic initiatives.
Assist with cash flow forecasting, capital expenditure planning, and special projects. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting packages. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Review financial statements and analyze key performance drivers. Present financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders. Support external audits and coordinate audit documentation.
Assist with HST filings, payroll compliance, government remittances, and regulatory reporting requirements. Support U.S. tax filings and compliance activities where applicable. Evaluate accounting procedures and strengthen internal controls.
Support daily accounting operations and provide guidance to junior accounting team members. Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and automation. Leverage business intelligence and reporting tools to enhance decision-making.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and accounting processes. Must Haves: CPA designation required, or completion of the CFE with results pending. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
Progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, accounting, or investment-related environments. Advanced financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical capabilities. Strong understanding of financial statements, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills. Experience supporting audits, compliance, and financial reporting processes. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
