Senior Frontend Engineer (ui/ux)

Job Summary:

Barclays is on a mission to redefine the future of banking, focusing on innovative solutions in Asset Servicing. The Senior Frontend Engineer (UI/UX) will play a crucial role in designing and building intuitive user interfaces for a new platform, collaborating with Operations and Product teams to enhance user experience.

Responsibilities:

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Designing, building, testing, and implementing responsive UIs using React, React Testing Library, React Query, TypeScript, JavaScript, Redux, Angular, HTML, CSS, Styled Components, and ES6
• Using Figma or similar tools to inspect design specs, collaborate with designers, and ensure accurate UI implementation
• Applying UI/UX principles to deliver smooth, intuitive user experiences with good attention to detail
• Writing clean, efficient, maintainable code using object-oriented design principles
• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools
• Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives

Preferred:

• Working with build tools and CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab
• Exposure to Java, databases, or AI-driven technologies
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Understanding containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker
