About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Manager – Public Relations to lead client mandates, develop communications strategies and manage the successful execution of integrated PR campaigns.
The ideal candidate will bring strong media relationships, strategic thinking, excellent client management skills and the ability to guide teams across multiple accounts. The role requires someone who can translate client objectives into impactful communication programmes, identify opportunities proactively and deliver measurable outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Communications
- Develop and lead public relations and communications strategies aligned with client objectives
- Translate business, reputation and policy priorities into compelling communication programmes
- Develop key messages, media narratives, campaign ideas and thought-leadership platforms
- Provide strategic counsel to clients on reputation, positioning and emerging communication issues
- Identify proactive opportunities to strengthen client visibility and credibility
Media Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior journalists, editors, columnists and industry influencers
- Lead media outreach and secure high-quality opportunities across print, digital, broadcast and emerging platforms
- Guide the development of media pitches, story angles and engagement strategies
- Manage media interviews, briefings, press conferences and other interactions
- Advise clients and spokespersons on media engagement and interview preparedness
Client and Account Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients
- Build strong client relationships and develop a clear understanding of their business and communication priorities
- Lead client meetings, reviews and strategic planning sessions
- Ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of all account commitments
- Manage expectations, resolve challenges and maintain high levels of client satisfaction
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client mandates and deepen relationships
Content and Thought Leadership
- Oversee the development of press releases, media pitches, authored articles, opinion pieces, speeches, briefing documents and other communication materials
- Review and strengthen content developed by team members
- Ensure all communication materials are accurate, well-researched and aligned with client positioning
- Develop thought-leadership programmes for client spokespersons and senior leadership
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor and manage account teams across multiple client mandates
- Allocate responsibilities, establish timelines and monitor execution
- Review team output and provide regular feedback and guidance
- Support the professional development of junior team members
- Promote collaboration, accountability and high standards of performance
Campaign Management and Reporting
- Lead the planning and execution of integrated public relations campaigns
- Establish campaign objectives, deliverables, timelines and measurement frameworks
- Monitor campaign performance and ensure course correction where required
- Oversee media monitoring, coverage analysis and client reporting
- Present campaign outcomes, insights and recommendations to clients
Research and Opportunity Identification
- Track industry trends, competitor activity and relevant media, policy and market developments
- Identify emerging issues and opportunities that may impact clients
- Identify speaking engagements, awards, partnerships, events and thought-leadership platforms
- Use research and insights to strengthen communication strategies and media narratives
Business Development
- Support the development of new business proposals and presentations
- Participate in prospective client meetings and pitches
- Contribute ideas and strategic inputs for business development initiatives
- Identify opportunities for organic growth across existing client accounts
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing or a related field
- 7–10 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications or media relations
- Significant experience working with a PR or strategic communications agency
- Strong relationships across the Indian media landscape
- Proven experience managing clients and leading account teams
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple clients, campaigns and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience developing communication strategies, media narratives and thought-leadership programmes
- Strong understanding of digital media, social media and the evolving communications landscape
- A proactive, solutions-oriented and entrepreneurial approach to work
