Overview
The Sikorsky Strategy & Business Development organization recently completed a strategic reorganization and realigned market segment portfolios for greater operational efficiency. The Marine Corps Systems (MCS) segment is positioned for accelerated growth in domestic and international markets. This role reports to the MCS Market Segment Director and executes the Director’s strategy, drives capture activities, and serves as the primary liaison across all business development functions.
Responsibilities
- Translate the Director’s long‑range plan and market segment strategy into actionable business development plans for both domestic and international MCS opportunities.
- Own all captures for USG‑related MCS (Gate 0–Gate 5) from opportunity identification through contract award.
- Develop capture strategies, pricing, and financial models; present to senior leadership and customers.
- Build and sustain senior‑level relationships with U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army decision makers; support the MCS international team by facilitating interactions with foreign stakeholders and U.S. Government partners (DoD, State).
- Plan, coordinate, and execute MCAA and MCA events; arrange stakeholder engagements with U.S. Marine Corps leadership across the stakeholder chain.
- Develop and maintain a living stakeholder engagement plan to execute outcome‑based call plans for Sikorsky/RMS executives to realize the MCS Strategy.
- Drive lead generation, pipeline development, and funnel conversion for MCS platforms.
- Conduct market research, budget process analysis, and capability gap assessments for target customers.
- Ensure full compliance with FMS, DCS, and Lockheed Martin export control regulations.
- Keep CRM and reporting tools current and accurate.
- Travel up to 60% to customer sites, trade shows, and partner facilities—primarily domestic but occasionally worldwide.
Qualifications
- Retired U.S. Marine Corps officer with recent HQMC, Aviation Hallway, or NAVAIR experience; demonstrated knowledge of U.S. Marine Corps AVPLAN and MAGTF Operations.
- Superior communication skills with the ability to build and sustain strong relationships with senior internal and external customers.
- Core knowledge of the Sikorsky portfolio and ability to identify opportunities where our solutions meet or exceed current and future customer requirements; solid understanding of Department of Defense budgeting and acquisition processes, including Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
- Decisive decision‑making, extreme ownership in all undertakings, and team‑player mentality.
- Proven experience leading diverse, multi‑level, cross‑functional teams.
- High degree of flexibility; willingness and ability to travel worldwide without restriction.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment with minimal supervision.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, international relations, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act) are a plus.
Desired Skills
- Former Naval Aviator, rotary‑wing preferred, or 10+ years of business development and/or operational experience in aerospace and defense.
- Ability to interpret customer needs and translate them into executable and measurable campaign actions.
- Extensive experience with domestic market intelligence, competitive analysis, and outcome‑based call planning.
- Strong financial planning, pricing, and forecasting capabilities.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; comfortable briefing senior executives and government officials.

Environmental and Other Terms
Work performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work schedules may include a 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual base salary range: $151,200 – $266,570 (state‑dependent). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Salary information is a general guideline only.
